ourse Description:

Welcome to LOMS Physical Education. This course is designed to further develop team sports skills, learn the importance of health and fitness, and promote an active lifestyle in and out of the class. Following the rules, sports etiquette, full participation, and safety procedure are emphasized in the class. Being Respectful, Responsible and safe are the main expectations of the students. All students are treated equally in regards to expectations, assessments, and teaching. The student will be able to learn the principles of fitness and health while experiencing a fun and positive learning environment. As a result, students will improve his/her general physical fitness, skills performance, and self-image. Lastly, all students are also expected to dress up, fully participate, and be at their best behavior in my class. 

Course Objectives

1.     The student will demonstrate and acquire the critical skills of team activities and sports:

 

2.     The student will demonstrate cognitive understanding of fundamental skills and academic language during game activities and assessments

 

3.     Students will achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. They will also learn acceptance and appreciation for differences among themselves and others in regard to abilities and achievements.

 

Classroom Procedures

1. Students drop off their backpacks and dress out in the lockers.

2. Students will exercise and cover learning objectives. 

3. Make sure you keep your hands to yourself. 

4. Listen for instructions when performing daily warm-up/lap routines/drills.

5. After the lesson segment, return all equipment, sit down in assigned spots, and wait for the teacher's dismissal

 

Classroom Expectations

1. Be respectful to everyone, no bullying and verbal abuse allowed

2. Use school equipment appropriately and follow safety procedures at all times

3. Raise your hand if you have a question, do not talk over others, and pay attention when asked to do so.

4. Always be on task and follow instructions

5. All students are expected to try their best and have fun during class

  

Restroom/Hall-pass Policy: All students are encouraged to take bathroom breaks in between classes. If it is an emergency, each student is given one hall pass each day to take a restroom break. Each hall pass is allowed for only one student at a time. The restroom/hall-pass should be given back to the teacher once they are finished. If the student leaves the class without a restroom/hall pass or if the pass is not returned to the teacher, the student will be referred to the office and deducted class points for that day. 

 

 

Dress codeComfortable Physical Education attire and athletic shoes. (Students are responsible for bringing a lock for the locker, deodorant, and water bottle)
