Course Description

In this course, students will work with numerical representations and relationships, computations and algebraic relationships, geometry and measurement, and data analysis and financial literacy as prescribed by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Students will be able to use the TI-Nspire graphing calculator throughout the year and for their STAAR Math.  *School will provide calculator!

Student Supplies

Students are required to have the following supplies each day throughout the school year:

  • (1) Composition Notebook
  • Glue and Scissors
  • Pencils, Pens & Highlighters
  • Optional: Personal Sharpener

 

Grading Policies: All given work must be completed with proof of work in order to receive grade.

Assignments/Homework       50%

Quizzes/Tests                           50%

 

Cheating will not be accepted! if this incident occurs, parents will be notified and an automatic zero will be given.  

 

Late Work/Makeup Work/Absent: Student is responsible to ask for their make-up work.

  • Late assignments will be penalized up to 3 instructional days at 10 points per day. After the third day, students will receive a zero.
  • Excused Absences: Students will be allowed to make up work due to any excused absence. 
  • Unexcused Absences: Make-up work/tests after an unexcused absence will receive a maximum grade of 70.

 

IXL’S:  will be assigned weekly (about 1 to 2). Must complete for a grade.

 

Help Outside of Class:  If you are struggling with any of the concepts covered in class, ask for extra help after school!
